Senior Exercise Instructor

Lifeguard

 Immediate positions available for lifeguards.  Will pay for training. The Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA is now accepting applications for lifeguards. Qualified applicants need to possess current Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, AED, CPR-Pro, and First Aid. Applications are available at the Service Desk. Group Exercise Instructor

Group Exercise Instructor Opportunities

        -Cardio Mix Instructor – Mid-Morning: Low-intensity class for those that appreciate variety.  Class uses different tools and cardio moves to increase your heart rate and help you gain strength.  Seeking an instructor available M/W 8-8:45am.

        -Weekend Instructors: Seeking instructors available on Sa/Su to lead a variety of group exercise classes.  Times and types of classes are negotiable.

Aquatics Instructor

Must be certified in CPR, AED and First Aid.  Certification may be acquired after hire.

Positions Needed: 
-Swim Lesson Instructor

Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes.  Instructs in beginning to advanced swimming and safety skills according to age group and class swim level. Provides a quality experience to students and parents.  Represents the Y and self in a professional manner of safety and fun.

-Water Exercise Instructor
Responsible for conducting water fitness classes. Provides a quality experience to participants.  Represents the Y and self in a professional manner of safety and fun.

Summer Day Camp Staff

Directly responsible to the Fit Kids/Day Camp Coordinator.

With guidance from the Fit Kids/Day Camp Coordinator, the Counselor is responsible for the supervision and engagement of Fit Kid/Day Camp participants and parents.

Minimum age requirement is 16 for Fit Kids program and 17 for Summer Day Camp.

Bus Driver

Part-time position for CDL licensed driver to transport children with Y bus to and from Lenihan Intermediate School for Teach Them To Swim program.  Opening is 3:30 – 5 p.m., on Monday and Wednesday during the school year. Applicants must enjoy children and also be willing to help with light building duties between driving children to and from the Y.  Submit application to Shelley Lechnir shelley.lechnir@ymca-ywca.org or drop off at the Horne-Henry Center Service Desk during business hours.   

Little Campers Staff

The Y is hiring staff for Little Campers summer preschool program.  Little Campers staff are responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach young children.  The staff must provide a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

Preschool Teacher - Full/Part Time

The Y has an exciting opportunity this Fall for a Full- or Part-Time Preschool Teacher!   We are now taking applications for this position.

With guidance from the Youth Director, preschool teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach young children.  The teacher must provide a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

Education:  BA in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education and Iowa Teaching License
